  I have been to Delta Grill over a dozen times in the last two years and it is truly amazing how good the food there is whether I eat there or take it home. Trust me when I say you can't go wrong if you love Cajun food.

  The Delta Grill is one of the few restaurants left with cuisine from New Orleans. Their gumbo is top-rate, jumbalaya excellent and they make a mean shrimp creole. Their menu is substantial--they also have ribs, blackened fish, fried chicken, shrimp and crawfish etouffee, and a bunch of 'po boys and pasta dishes. You can go for brunch (often accompanied by live music) or dinner and it's in the theatre district so a good pre-theatre choice. My husband's whole family is from New Orleans and he is always looking for good Creole New Orleans food, and this place fits the bill!

  Went here the other day with a friend who recommended the place, and was excited to try the fried green tomatoes as I'd never had them before. Was pleasantly suprised at how spacious the place was. Very cozy & unpretentious with pretty xmas lights decorating the place--dimly lit, music not too loud (so you could enjoy it but still have a conversation), staff very cheery. Nice & warm with a mellow feel, perfect for a cold winter's night. The fried green tomatoes were yummy (love the pepper cream sauce), as was the chicken lenore recommended by the waitress. We were not rushed out of there like you are in some NY restaurants; if anything it almost took too long to get the bill. Wish I had room to try more of the menu, but as it was I had leftovers to take home. I will be back!

  Louisiana Creole and Cajun cuisine at the Delta Grill is great. The food price is reasonable and the portions are ample. It is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC which has some of the best food. ANd the warm corn bread is spectacular. The jambalaya and poor boy plates are incredible. \r \r Its décor is like a little escape to Bourbon Street. I took a group of 6 people there and everyone raved about the food and the bill was under $200 with 7 people including drinks. \r \r I highly recommend this restaurant.

  this is an awesome restaurant! i've been dreaming of plank baked salmon since i was there last. that's right! they have these cool cedar planks to cook fish on... and it comes right out to your table that way! yum yum yummy!

  never had southern food before this unless i was in virginia. this was delicious, been there a few times and never had something i didn't like, including stuff off other peple's plates that i didn't order! mac and cheese is great, chicken is a HUGE portion for the price, ribs are delicious....AND they have a decent beer selection.

  The Delta Grill is a little piece of New Orleans in NYC. The choices on the menu make it hard to pick just one thing. The Jambalaya is nice and spicy...delicious. The best part of dinner was the Bananas Foster, one of my favorite desserts. Definitely leave some room for that, the serving is enough for two people.

  From the outside this place doesn't look like much, but once you go in you are surprised. From what I've seen this place looks like it belongs in the French quarter with its decor even though I've never been there. The staff was more than pleasant, they really valued customer service. The food, well, my bbq ribs were just about the best I've ever had. The meat just fell right off the bone, they made their own bbq sauce which made it all the better. The mashed potatoes were tasty as well. My friend had the chicken steak which was finger-licking as well. I will go again on a weekend when I am told play live music.

  We dined there Saturday and it was excellent, I had the pork chops(thick and tender) and my partner had the chicken Lenore,(interesting presentation) we had bananas foster for dessert. The waiter was pleasant and the food was great. I would go back again.

  My husband and I ate here for our 1st Anniversary. The food was amazing. We started with Stuffed Mirliton which was fried chayote with shrimp and Alligator Sauce Piquant which was alligator meat stewed in a tomato based sauce. For our entrees with had Classic Jambalaya and Shrimp Creole. Everything tasted great and our waiter was polite and joking. However the price is expensive with entrees costing $15 and up so make sure you have the money before going. PROS: Amazing Food. CONS: Expensive.

  We arrived from Boston, hungry and tired and ready for drinks and appetizers and a bit of pampering. We passed many spots and randomly picked the Delta Grill. The waiter could not have been more patient with us as we (okay, my wife) made her decision on appetizers. She had the Sticky Chicken, which was excellent (decadent, tangy and sweet) and the Crawfish Popcorn was very good and while we left to meet friends, we left wishing we stayed for dinner. Later, we realized my wide had left her purse on the floor by our table. When we returned 3 hours later, her purse was waiting safely there for her and the manager could not have been nicer. So we hope you enjoy the Delta Grill for their food, service and honesty! We did!

  My boyfriend and I eat here probably once a month. We live a block or 2 away and find that it hits the spot when all youre looking for is some good southern comfort food (especially when youre hungover!). The entrees are supersized and although I usually dont take doggie bags, in this case I do and i have dinner for another night or two. I find the fried chicken to be a stand out choice ... the chicken is always juicy and they let you mix and match sides from other dishes if you ask (their mashed potatoes have a little kick and shouldnt be missed). Be SURE to order a side of the mac n' cheese to share with someone ... it's hands down the best I've ever had. Prices are totally reasonable.

  We went to The Delta Grill for Sunday brunch and thought it was awesome! Went early - around 12pm - and the place was mostly empty. By 1pm it was packed. Great brunch selections or you can order off the regular menu. We had omelets with fun things like tasso and andoulle sausage, poached eggs over biscuits, and this crazy omelet-in-potato thing - delicious!! The beignets were great too. Live music was nice, not at all loud and intrusive. Definitely recommend it - can't wait to go back and try dinner!

  I've been to Delta Grill multiple times, with different groups of people, and everyone has loved it so far. There is a wide variety of Cajun style food to suit everyone. The bread that comes with dinner is hot and tasty. Service is friendly at the door, bar and table. The fried green tomatoes are my favorite. Frozen drinks are weak, so stick with something else

  My wife and I opted to skip Fat Tuesday at the "Grille" by showing up Sunday evening. We made a great choice in that there was a festive crowd, but ample seating available. I chose to order the Southern fried Catfish on a bed of succotash, smothered in an ettoufe' sauce that pulled it all together. From the first savory mouthfull I felt I was back in the French Quarter! I can honestly say I have never had better Catfish served in all of New Orleans! If you love Cajun-Creole, you must try the Delta grille!

  My dining partner and I traveled to 9th street and stumbled on this place. From the outside, it didn't look like much, but once we entered, it was like we had entered an established place in New Orleans. Before we ordered, we dined on the corn muffins (which would have been better had they been served warm). I ordered the chicken creole, and my partner ordered from the brunch menu (French Quarter Toast which is essentially a thick french toast). The presentation was very good on both dishes. My creole was very tasty, and my only criticism is that the portion size was pretty small. The French toast was great and on a scale of 1 to 10, it scored an 8 (if you want french toast that scores a 10, go to Suburban House in Baltimore). Just need a Mardi Gras parade to make this more memorable!

  Its good and its Cajun. The prices here can be exorbitant enough to consider purchasing a ticket and flying to New Orleans. The service is spotty at times, but the food makes up for it. Its a place for the Cajun junkies who won't find much Southern loving anywhere else in midtown.

  Had an early lunch there and husband and I both enjoyed our meal. Had the soup of the day (shrimp/corn chowder?) and Po' Boys (shrimp for me, BBQ for him). Very quiet at that time of day (or perhaps because it was raining), waitress was very pleasant. Would definitely go there again.

  I am a semi-regular at the Delta Grill, and unfortunately have witnessed the decline in their food. There are still some stalwarts that you can count on, but you have to be careful with what you order. The Muffaletta is a little disappointing, while the Cheese Grits still rock. The Gumbo is great, but the crawfish fizzles. Not sure what the problem is back in the kitchen, but yes I have to admit that its started to drop off. Hope they can get the mojo back.

  I'm not sure what these other people are talking about...I walked out of the Delta last weekend knowing that the pork chops were the best I'd ever had. Two thick and tender slabs of chop were excellent! That was the second time I'd been there and each time I'd been very satified with my meal. The first time I went, I got the crawfish etouffe...very good. If you're looking for an excellent, reasonably priced meal...this is it!!!

  Went on a friend's recommendation, and I'm so glad I did. It was pretty crowded, but we were seated immediately (2 people, 6:30 pm on a Saturday night). The jambalaya was delicious, and I don't know why some other reviewers are throwing accusations of blandness--it was very spicy, just at the edge of my heat tolerance. The portion was generous, too; I had enough leftovers for a good lunch the next day. The service was a little harried but well within acceptable ranges. And the key lime pie is to die for.

  My husband and I love this restaurant. We live in the neighborhood, and often bring family and friends to dinner at Delta Grill. Everyone has really enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. I would highly recommend this restaurant--I've never been disappointed by its food.

  This is by far the worst meal out, I have ever eaten. The staff is nice, but they have the awful job of having to sell bland food as "amazing" treats. The appetizers are better tasting than the entrees. Skip the pork chop if you don't like tasteless slabs of meat on your plate. The food is so awful you will feel embarrassed for suggesting it to your friends!

  My friends and I have returned here 3 times. We are often the kind of people who would not spend up to 20 $ a meal for each person ... but this place is special!!! If your anything like my friends and I try this place at least once for a special occasion! Highly recommend the Leonores Chicken and Jambalya.

  New Orleans fare has become difficult to find as of late. This restaurant serves very good cajun/creole food. They are a little understaffed, making the service a bit slow at times. But it's forgiveable, where else can one get good jambalaya and a bottle of red voodoo ale?

  This place would actually be a nice value for good food, but the service is terrible. Open tables abound, but they still act like seating you is a tremendous favor. After sitting for 15 minutes, the waitress finally gave us menus and took a drink order. 20 minutes later she came back and asked "anything else?" without ever bringing us drinks or taking a food order. When our meal was finally done, she lost my credit card! The manager was obnoxious when I complained, saying it was all "no big deal."

  The Delta grill is a nice slice of Nawlins' in New York. The hurricanes, though not as good as Pat O's, were nice and strong. The appetizers and soups were in such portions that we didn't order a main. The turtle soup (special) and chicken and andouille gumbo were great. Same for the alligator sauce piquant, hushpuppies, and fried okra - but get the dipping sauce from the hushpuppies instead. Service was more than adequate and on a Wednesday nght parking was not difficult. The atmosphere is like many bars I've been to in bayou country. I'm not sure how it is during the theater dinner time, but otherwise its a solid spot - good for a date, but sit by the fireplace.

  Raised in the great City of New Orleans, I have come to expect very much from eating establishments and I concede that immitating creole cuisine is not easy. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant's attempt. Although it wasn't authentic, it was pretty damn close and pretty damn good all the same. So far, it's the closest I've encountered in the city. Try it!

  Awesome Southern fare, Food is out of this world. Service needs improvement, but don't let that keep you from puttin a little south in yo mouth. Crawfish Pie to start with and Lenores chicken as your entree and you'll be in heaven. Check out the ceiling fans.

  Host - Older guy who acted as if he was doing us a favor. Bartender - had to wait and wait then actually call his attention for a drink when he was B.S.ing for at least 10 minutes three feet away. Food - Less than average. We tried 5 things on the menu (Crab fingers, Raspberry salad, Macaroni and Cheese, Fried Crawfish and Sticky Chicken). In short - Service was horrible, food was weak and tastless. Still really like the theme.

  They really try to make the New Orleans cuisine authentic here, I think they do a pretty great job. The vibe is pretty frat-boy (not unlike the source city), and I wouldn't call it cheap here. The Shrimp Remoulade is particularly yummy. The bar area can get quite fiesty--it might even be more of a bar scene than a food one, despite the quality of the latter.
